The Drum Scalperator SK-100 from BK "VIMALSPETSBUD" is designed for the preliminary cleaning of grain from coarse, large foreign, and straw impurities to prevent clogging of the receiving and distributing devices of subsequent grain cleaning equipment.

It protects the receiving and distributing devices of technological equipment from damage caused by large heavy impurities and prevents clogging by coarse straw impurities and foreign objects. It also helps protect the grain dryer from flare-ups by removing light impurities and dust. Overall, it enhances the efficiency of the cleaning and drying process

The drum scalper is installed in grain cleaning sections of elevators and at grain receiving enterprises..

The principle of the scalper's operation is based on the sequential cleaning of grain from coarse foreign impurities, straw, and stalks.

Main structural components of the SK-100 drum scalper from BK "VIMALSPETSBUD":

The drum screener consists of the following main components:

  • housing and drum;
  • receiving chute;
  • brush, shaft, motor-reducer;
  • collectors for large impurities and cleaned grain

The housing, made of sheet steel, contains the working chamber where the sieve drum is installed. Four supports with base plates are welded to the housing. Holes are provided for fastening the screener to the ceiling with bolts. On one end wall of the housing, bent channels are welded on the outside to serve as mounts for the bearing supports and drive shaft. The opening on the opposite wall is intended for removal and installation of the sieve drum and is covered with a lid. The drive consists of a planetary gear motor and a chain transmission.

The sieve drum with a horizontal axis of rotation is cantilever-mounted on the drive shaft and serves as the main working component. It consists of a bottom, a receiving sieve section with openings, and a stepped section. A helical blade, made of sheet steel, is welded to the inner surface of the stepped section of the sieve drum. This blade facilitates the accelerated removal of impurities from the screener.

The cleaning brush with elastic bristles is positioned along the generatrix of the sieve drum and fixed in a holder. The receiving device consists of a pipe and an inclined chute.

OPTIONAL ADDITIONAL INSTALLATION! To remove light impurities and dust from the grain, an Air Cleaning Unit (ACU) is used. The scalper prevents clogging and overloading of the receiving and distributing devices of subsequent grain cleaning and drying equipment, thereby increasing their productivity.

Principle of operation of the SK-100 drum scalper from BK "VIMALSPETSBUD":

The principle of operation of the scalper consists in the sequential cleaning of grain from coarse foreign impurities, straw, and stalks. The incoming grain mixture is evenly fed through the receiving chute into the rotating drum. The drum is mounted on an axis that is driven by a motor-reducer. Passing through the drum openings, the cleaned grain exits the scalper through the discharge chute formed by the lower inclined walls of the housing, is collected in the cleaned grain collector, and is sent for further processing.

Selected foreign impurities, gradually moving toward the open section of the drum, are freed from grains stuck in them and discharged by a screw conveyor into the coarse impurities collector. For cleaning the drum, a brush is used, which is located along the top of the drum and fixed in a holder.
